By Afton MarkayGelsey Bell’s “mɔɹnɪŋ [morning//mourning]” will be performed as part of Roulette’s Winter 2026 season.
Following its extended and sold-out run during Prototype in 2023, a US tour, and a stint in Green-Wood Cemetery’s catacombs, this experimental opera will be presented in concert at Roulette. Bell’s “mɔɹnɪŋ [morning//mourning]” is set just after humanity has disappeared from the Earth, and traces the weeks, months, years, and millennia that follow.
Aviva Jaye, Paul Pinto, Brian McCorkle, and Mia Pak make up the cast.
“mɔɹnɪŋ [morning//mourning]” will be presented on Jan. 12, 2026.
