Downtown Voices Unveils 2025-26 Season

GRAMMY-nominated Downtown Voices, led by Stephen Sands, has unveiled its 2025–26 Trinity Church season.

The season opens with “PIPES: Downtown Voices” featuring Janet Yieh, inaugurating Trinity’s new Glatter-Götz/Rosales organ. Works include Parry’s “I was glad” and Vaughan Williams’s “Five Mystical Songs,” performed alongside baritone Edmund Milly.

Performance Date: Oct. 23, 2025


Next up, Downtown Voices celebrates its 10th anniversary with Benjamin Britten’s “Saint Nicolas,” the cantata that launched the ensemble in 2015. The concert reunites alumni, NOVUS, Trinity Youth Chorus, and soloists for a festive musical homecoming. David Vanderwal is the tenor soloist.

Performance Date: Dec. 3, 2025


The Spring brings Brahms’s “Ein deutsches Requiem.” Soloists will be determined at a later date.

Performance Date: March 11, 2026


The season ends with the world premiere of David Hurd’s “Great Awakenings: John Henry Hobart and America,” commemorating America’s 250th anniversary. The latter features text by Christopher Dylan Herbert and performances by Trinity Choir, Downtown Voices, and NOVUS, conducted by Melissa Attebury.
