By David Salazar

On May 7, 2023, Coro Allegro will present the final concert of its Centennial Celebration of composer Daniel Pinkham and its 30th anniversary with Artistic Director David Hodgkins.

The showcase, which will take place at Sanders Theatre in Boston, will feature Pinkham’s “The White Raven / Inspiring Music for Troubled Times” as well as Haydn’s “Missa in Anguistiis” and Diane White-Clayton’s “Many Mansions,” which “reflects on the losses and struggles of our own troubled times, including the Black Lives Matter movement and the COVID pandemic while emerging with a resilient reaffirmation of life.”

The performance will feature soprano Dana Varga, tenor Omar Najmi, mezzo-soprano Clare McNamara, and baritone Wayne Arthur.

Coro Allegro is an award-winning LGBTQ+ and allied classical chorus that was founded in 1991 and has presented 28 world premieres, three American premieres, and eight Boston premieres.
