The Arena di Verona has announced a cast change for its performance on July 2 of “La Traviata.”

The company noted that Artur Ruciński has withdrawn from the performance due to COVID-19 and has been replaced by Vladimir Stoyanov in the role of Germont.

Ruciński took to social media and said, “It is with a heavy heart that I am saddened to announce my withdrawal from La Traviata at the @arenadiverona on July 2nd due to covid. Yesterday I was tested positive, and, unfortunately, I am not able to perform in a few days time. I will keep you guys posted about the state of my health in the few coming days.”

Stoyanov will join a cast that includes Nina Minasyan and Vittorio Grigòlo. Marco Armiliato conducts Franco Zeffirelli’s production.
