Arad Philharmonic & Pitesti Philarmonic Orchestra to Present ‘Carmina Burana’

To celebration the 130th anniversary of Carl Orff’s birth, “Carmina Burana” will be presented throughout Romania.

The Arad Philharmonic under the baton of Neil Thomson opens its 2025-26 season with “Carmina Burana.” This performance will feature soprano Mariana Bulicanu, tenor Ştefan von Korch, and baritone Ludovic Kendi. They are joined by the children’s choir of the Sabin Dragoi College of Arts led by Corina Teuca. The Cultural Palace hosts the Oct. 2 concert.

Later, Musical Extravaganza will close its 2025-26 season with the piece.  Featured soloists are soprano Oana Maria Şerban, tenor Stefan von Korch, and baritone Fang Shuang. They will perform with the Pitesti Philarmonic Orchestra. This presentation of “Carmina Burana” will serve as the open-air premiere in Bucharest. The concert will take place at Herăstrău Summer Garden on July 17, 2026.
