Weekend Preview (6/24-26) – USA: Opera in Ozarks, Wolf Trap Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera Start Showcases

With the summer underway, the opera world remains in full swing.

Opera in Ozarks is the big company to make headlines this weekend as the company showcases two performances. “Le Nozze di Figaro” gets a look on Friday while “Susannah” gets a showcase on Saturday.

Wolf Trap Opera also gets a major showcase with “La Pietra del Paragone” on Friday and Sunday.

Long Beach Opera continues its run of “Frida” on Friday while Cincinnati Opera also showcases the same work on Friday and Sunday. Cincinnati Opera also presents “La Bohème” on Saturday.

Des Moines Metro Opera gives performances of “Turandot” on Friday and Sunday” with “A Little Night Music” coming on Saturday.

Festival Opera showcases “Pagliacci” and “The Seven Deadly Sins” on Saturday.

The Opera Theatre of Saint Louis gives “The Grapes of Wrath” on Sunday after presenting “La Clemenza di Tito” a day earlier.

Lyric Opera of the North also presents “Rigoletto” on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco Opera continues its summer season with “La Bohème” on Friday and Sunday and “Don Giovanni” on Saturday.

The New York Opera Fest 2017 slowly but surely comes to an end with two performances this weekend. OperaRox will showcase its New Works Concert on Friday while On Site Opera presents “La mère coupable” on Friday and Saturday.
