Watch Wagner’s ‘Lohengrin’ In Live Stream From Vienna State Opera

On Nov. 2, 2018, the Vienna State Opera will transmit a live stream of Wagner’s “Lohengrin.”

The performance will be led by conductor Simone Young with a cast that includes Kwangchul Youn as Heinrich, Andreas Schager as Lohengrin, Elza van den Heever as Elsa von Brabant, Evgeny Nikitin as Fredrich von Telramund, and Petra Lang as the villainous Ortrud. This is the penultimate performance of the run with an additional performance on Nov. 7 still to come. The production is by director Andreas Homoki.

The stream kicks off at 6 p.m. local time and is slated to run until around 10:30 p.m. That’s around 1 p.m. EDT and 10 a.m. PST for the start time.

Per the official website, tickets start at 14 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference for experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Les Troyens,” “L’Elisir d’Amore,” “Don Giovanni,” La Bohème,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Die Weiden,” “Hänsel und Gretel,” and “Die Fledermaus.”
