Virginia Opera’s 2018-19 Season To Feature Cecilia Violetta Lopez, Zachary James & Danielle Pastin

The Virginia Opera has announced its 2018-19 season featuring four productions.

Here is a look at what the company has in stock for prospective audiences!

The season opens with Kurt Weill’s “Street Scene” featuring Maureen McKay, David Blalock, Jull Gardner, and Zachary James. Dorothy Danner directs the new production conducted by Adam Turner.

Performance Dates: Sept. 28-Oct. 14, 2018

The season continues with Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” starring Rachelle Durkin, Sarah Larsen, Zachary Altman, and Tobias Greenhalgh. Lillian Groag directs with Adam Turner conducting.

Performance Dates: Nov. 2-18, 2018

Cecilia Violetta Lopez headlines Donizetti’s “The Elixir of Love” with Carlos Enrique Santelli, Alexander Elliott, and Matthew Burns. Adam Turner conducts Kyle Turner’s production.

Performance Dates: Feb. 8-24, 2019 

Richard Gammon directs a production of Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” starring Danielle Pastin in the title role. Adam Turner conducts a cast that also includes Jonathan Tetelman as Pinkerton and Levi Hernandez as Sharpless.

Performance Dates: March 15-31, 2019
