Verdi Film ‘In the Mouth of the Wolf” Gets Special Screening at Film Forum Feb. 20

By David Salazar

Film Forum will showcase “In the Mouth of the Wolf” for the first time in over 50 years on Monday, Feb. 20.

According to the website, the film showcases the Verdi-obsessed culture in Parma. The film was showcased on U.S. television just once 54 years ago. The event will showcase the sole existing 16 mm print. The film lasts around 90 minutes.

The screening will be followed by a session with director George Malko and Verdi aficionado August Ventura who will present scenes from his own upcoming film “27” which documents Parma’s obsession with the composer from Busetto. Audience members will get a chance to speak to both men about Italy’s most famous composer.

Members of the film forum only have to pay $8 to get into the event while others will be charged $14.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. EST and is slated to end around 8:30 p.m EST.
