‘Three Way’ Premieres At BAM Imagining The Present And Future Of Sex And Love

By Jasawn Pryce

The hotly anticipated production entitled “Three Way” begins June 15th, until the 18th at BAM Fisher-Fishman Space in Brooklyn, NY.

The new production from American Opera and Nashville Opera is inspired by the Tinder generation and focuses on the present and future of sex and love. This Opera will feature music by Robert Paterson and libretto by David Cote.

“Three Way” will unfold in three playful one-acts with average lovers, BDSM, and multiple partners in their search for the ever elusive emotional connections in today’s romantic world.

Nashville Opera’s John Hoomes will direct the NYC premiere with Dean Williamson conducting the American Modern Ensemble.

Opera News has described “Three Way” as “An effortlessly, funny, clever, and deeply resonant opera. Paterson amplifies the humor and heartache of cote’s libretto with a bright and magnificent score, replete with deadpan musical retorts and soaring melodies straight out of Bellini, Puccini or Strauss.”

In addition to the show on June 15, there is an opening night celebration, following a pre-show artist talk, and concluding the festivities is the post-show artist talk.
