The Théâtre du Capitôle Announces 2017-18 Season

The Théâtre du Capitôle has announced its 2017-18 season.

The season kicks off with D’Abert’s rarely performed work “Tiefland” on Sept. 29, 2017. The opera stars Nicola Schukoff and Megan Miller.

The production will be followed Puccini’s “La Rondine” starring Keri Alkema as Magda and Dmitry Popov as Ruggero. The production opens Nov. 17, 2017, with Paolo Arrivabeni conducting.

Wagner’s “Die Walküre” will follow on Jan. 30, 2018. The cast includes Anna Smirnova as Brünnhilde, Michael König as Siegmund, Tomasz Konieczny as Wotan, Daniela Sindram as Sieglinde and Elena Zhidkova as Fricka.

On Feb. 21, 2018, Gluck’s “Orphée et Eurydice” opens with Frédéric Antoun, Judith van Wanroij, and Jodie Devos.

Clémentine Margaine and Charles Castronovo star in the company’s new production of Bizet’s “Carmen.” The production opens April 6, 2018.

Tamara Wilson takes on the role of Lady Macbeth with Vitaliy Bilyy as Macbeth in Verdi’s early masterpiece. The production opens May 8, 2018, with Daniel Oren conducting.

Jeremy Ovenden and Keri Alkema star in Mozart’s “La Clemenza di Tito” opening June 22, 2018. The production directed by David McVicar with Attilio Cremonesi conducting.
