The Royal Opera & BP Big Screens Celebrate 30th Anniversary With ‘La Bohème’ & ‘Don Giovanni’

The Royal Opera House and BP will celebrate their 30-year partnership this summer with two opera screenings and one ballet.

Now in its 30th year, the partnership between BP and the Royal Opera House will present a new production of “Swan Lake” on June 12, 2018 followed by Puccini’s “La Bohème” on June 26, 2018 and Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” on July 12, 2018.

Audiences will get exclusive backstage footage, competitions and a chance to enjoy the great British outdoors in summer. It will also enable more than half a million people across the UK to experience world-class opera and ballet in locations ranging from Aberdeen to the Isle of Wight.

This year’s “La Bohème” will star Matthew Polenzani and Maria Agresta. Danielle De Niese will also star as Musetta and Etienne Dupuis will portray Marcello. Nicola Luisotti conducts.

Meanwhile, Maurisz Kwiecien reprises his role as “Don Giovanni” with Ildebrando d’Arcangelo, Rachel Willis-Sorensen, Pavol Breslik,  and Marc Minkowski conducting.
