The New Generation Festival has announced its 2018 Festival, which will take place in Florence, Italy.

The event will be held for just four days between August 29 and September 1.

On the operatic side of things, the festival will showcase Mozart’s perennial masterpiece “Don Giovanni” starring  Simon Schnorr, Anush Hovhannisyan, Rachel Kelly, Roman Lyulkin, Juan de Dios Mateos, Louise Kemény, and Vazgen Gazaryan in the lead roles. The opera, which opens on August 29, will be played with a 75-minute intermission to provide ample time for audiences to dine in the gardens of the Palazzo Corsini, where the festival will take place. “Don Giovanni” will also play on the closing night of the festival on Sept. 1.

The festival will also be holding a 10-day intensive training and performance for young singers who will work with leading teachers and coaches from the major UK conservatories and training institutions.

In addition to the opera offering the festival will also showcase an all-Tchaikovsky concert as well as a full staging of Shakespeare’s “Henry V.”
