Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo To Showcase Baritone Günter Haumer

Colombia’s Teatro Estudio at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo will showcase a recital featuring baritone Günter Haumer and the Cuarteto Q Arte Colombia this Saturday, August 19, 2017.

The program, which starts at 8 p.m. CT will kick off Othmar Schoeck’s “Notturno, Op. 47,” which was composed in 1933. After an intermission, Samuel Barber’s “Dover Beach, Op. 3,” will take over the program, which will then conclude with Wolfram Wagner’s 2016 piece “An fremden Tagen.”

Haumer is a regular soloist at the Volkoper in Vienna and has performed all over Europe and South American in such operas as “Don Giovanni,” “Le Nozze di Figaro,” “Don Pasquale,” “The Merry Widow,” and “Turandot,” among others. He has also sung modern works by Jonathan Harvey, Christoph Schlingensief, and Sanchez-Verdú.

Cuarteto Q-Arte has been a pioneer group in fusing contemporary music with that of Latin American culture. The group is made up of Juan Carlos Higuita (violin), Liz Ángela García (violin), Sandra Arango (viola) y Diego García (cello).
