Teatro Alla Scala Announces 2018 Season Opener

The Teatro alla Scala Scala will open its 2018-19 season with Verdi’s “Attila.”

According to Platea Magazine, Alexander Perriera, the company’s General Manager, has set up the Verdi opera for a new production on Dec. 7, 2018.

“Attila” follows a line of Italian operas including “Giovanna d´Arco” in 2015 with Anna Netrebko, “Madama Butterfly” in 2016 with María José Siri and Andrea Chénier in 2017 with Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov.

No cast has been announced at the moment.

The Teatro alla Scala recently opened its 2017-18 season to glowing reviews and this season is slated to present a number of star-studded operas including a new production of “Il Pirata” with Sonya Yoncheva and “Ernani” with Ailyn Pérez and Francesco Meli. The company will also showcase “Die Fledermaus” with Eva Mei, a new production of “Francesca da Rimini” with Siri and “Orfeo et Euridice” with Juan Diego Flórez.
