Violetta Urmana Replaces Alice Coote In Spain
Violetta Urmana will replace Alice Coote in the Spanish National Orchestra's upcoming concert. According to a press release from the orchestra, Coote canceled the concert due to personal reasons. She was to perform in a program entitled "Cleopatra's Requiem" on Feb. 16, 17 and 18 under Sir Mark Elder. On Oct. 20 2017, hr-Sinfonieorchester will be live-streaming its performance of Verdi’s “Requiem” on its website. Announced on the Instagram page of tenor Saimir Pirgu, the concert, conducted by Andres Orozco-Estrada, will also feature soprano Erika Grimaldi, mezzo-soprano Violeta Urmana, and bass Carlo Colombara.
