Susan Bullock & Mark Delavan To Be Featured At Maryland Lyric Opera’s 2018-19 Season

The Maryland Lyric Opera has announced its 2018-19 season featuring two operas and two galas dedicated to Puccini and Verdi. Here is a look!

The season opens with concert performances of Puccini’s “La Fanciulla del West” with two sopranos sharing the title role of Minnie – Susan Bullock and Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs. Music Director Louis Salemno conducts a cast that also includes Mark Delavan and Aleksey Bogdanov sharing the role of Jack Rance and Jonathan Burton and Yi Li alternating as Dick Johnson.

Performance Dates: Sept. 14 & 15, 2018

Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” will receive a fully-staged production directed by Lorna Haywood. Music Director Louis Salemno conducts a cast that includes  Maeve Höglund and Nayoung Ban sharing the title role of Lucia. Yi Li and Yongxi Chen alternate the role of Edgardo while Javier Arrey and SeungHyeon Baek appear as Enrico. The cast is rounded out by Wei Wu and Hunter Enoch, who both sing Raimondo.

Performance Dates: Jan. 24, 25, & 26, 2019

Current singers and alumni of the MDLO Young Artist Institute perform “An Evening of Verdi.” The concert will include semi-staged excerpts from the composer’s classics, including scenes from “Rigoletto,” “Il Trovatore,” and “La Traviata.”

Performance Dates: May 17 & 19, 2019

Current singers and alumni of the MDLO Young Artist Institute perform “An Evening of Puccini” featuring semi-staged excerpts from the composer’s classics, including scenes from “La Bohème,” “Tosca,” and “Madama Butterfly.”

Performance Dates: June 7 & 9, 2019
