Soprano Megan Elizabeth Cook To Live Stream Recital

This Sunday, Megan Elizabeth Cook will live-stream her capstone recital for her Certificate in Opera!  The live-stream will start at 3:00 p.m. CST, and go until 4:30 p.m.  The live-stream will be on Facebook and up for the public to watch.

Streaming from the DePaul University Concert Hall in Chicago IL,  the soprano will begin her repertoire list with Benjamin Britten’s “On this Island” – Op. 11,  singing  “Let the florid music praise!,” “Now the leaves are falling fast,” “Seascape”, “Nocturne” and “As it is, plenty.”

Her set list continues with pieces from Gabriel Fauré’s Op. 23, Rimsky-Korsakov’sOp. 56, “Son v letnjuju noch” Op. 42, and last but not least, Joaquín Turina’s “Poema en forma de canciones”- Op.19.

The Wisconsin native has explored various areas in art and she has performed in musicals and toured the United States in a world class drum and bugle corps.  At the Chicago College of Performing Arts she has also performed in numerous other productions.

Her other roles include the Gentle Reader in Dominick Argento’s “Miss Manners on Music” and the Elegant Lady/Woman in Poulenc’s “Les Mamelles de Tirésias.” Cook has also been part of the Floating Opera Company and performed as Fiordilgi in “Così fan tutte.”  The soprano has also starred on stage for other performances in shows like “Poor Unfortunate Souls: A Cabaret.”
