Sony Classical Announces New Jonas Kaufmann CD

Sony Classical has announced a new album for Jonas Kaufmann. The company posted a picture of Kaufmann with a sentence stating, “His new album coming this autumn!” ⠀

No further details were given.

The tenor is currently performing the title role of Verdi’s “Otello” in a highly anticipated production by Keith Warner. Maria Agresta and Marc Vratogna are performing alongside Kaufmann.  ⠀

The album marks his seventh solo release with the company. His first album for Sony came in 2013 with the Verdi album and was followed by Schubert’s “Winterreise.”  He followed that up with an operetta album and later recorded a Puccini album entitled Nessun Dorma. “Dolce Vita” and Mahler’s “Das Lied Von der Erde” were his latest. Sony has also released 12 DVDs for Kaufmann including numerous full operas and concerts.
