Sony Classical Announces Anita Rachvelishvili’s Debut Album

Sony Classical has announced Anita Rachvelishvili’s debut album.

The new album which is scheduled for release later this year will include arias from “Carmen,” “Werther,” “Don Carlo,” “Il Trovatore,” and “Samson et Dalila.” It will also include rarely performed Georgian songs. Giacomo Sagripanti conducts the CD, which features the Orchestra Sinfónica Nazionale Della Rai.

Rachvelishvili is currently rehearsing for a revival of “Il Trovatore” at the Metropolitan Opera alongside Jennifer Rowley and Yonghoon Lee and will make her role debut as Santuzza in “Cavalleria Rusticana” at the Opera di Roma. She also returns to the Vienna State Opera, Paris Opera, and the Berlin Staatsoper later this year and also performs a recital at Carnegie Hall.
