Social Media Beat (Week of 2/20/2017): Which Famous Opera Singers Hung Out With Anna Netrebko At Opernball?

It was a big week in the opera world, especially in Vienna where the Opernball took place.

Jonas Kaufmann fans were delighted to see the tenor perform, while he got a chance to hang out with a number of old friends, including Anna Netrebko. Here is a pic of the two posing for cameras alongside Netrebko’s husband Yusif Eyvazov.

Not to be outdone was soprano Valentina Nafronita who also got a chance to pose alongside Netrebko in a selfie.

Meanwhile at the Royal Opera House, Angela Gheorghiu posted some pictures from her recent performances of Cilea’s “Adriana Lecouvreur,” with which she continues to enjoy tremendous success.

For Rolando Villazón, this week was a time to enjoy his birthday as the tenor celebrated another solar revolution on Feb. 22, his 45th.

Over in Paris, the Alagnas (Roberto and wife Aleksandra Kurzak) showed off some time in the Calixto Bieito production of “Carmen,” which both will participate in.
