San Francisco Opera to Live Stream ‘Eugene Onegin’

San Francisco Opera’s Centennial Season continues with Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin,” which the company will live stream on Oct. 1, 2022.

The opera, which opened on Sept. 25 and runs through Oct. 14, will be conducted Vassilis Christopoulos making his American debut leading the San Francisco Opera Orchestra.

The cast will be led by soprano Evgenia Muraveva as Tatyana, bass-baritone Gordon Bintner in the title role, Evan LeRoy Johnson as Lensky, and Aigul Akhmetshina as Olga. Chorus Director John Keene leads the San Francisco Opera Chorus.

The opera will be presented in Robert Carsen’s staging and will be revived by stage director Peter McClintock. The production was first presented at the Metropolitan Opera and recently at teh Lyric Opera of Chicago and Canadian Opera Company.

The livestream will be available to watch on-demand for 48 hours beginning on Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. PT.
