On Thursday, the San Francisco Opera Guild, in collaboration with San Francisco Opera Association, announced details for Opera Ball 2017 at The Imperial Palace.

The event is a gala benefit aimed at celebrating the start of SFO’s 95th Season. The event will take place on Sept. 8, 2017, at the Imperial Palace Pavilion adjacent to the War Memorial Opera House. The Opera Ball 2017 will also feature an opening night gala performance of Puccini’s final opera “Turandot.”

The event will kick off at 5 p.m. PT with a cocktail reception with a dinner to follow at 6 p.m. Afterward, the group will head to the opera house across the street for the 8 p.m. performance.

“We’re thrilled to be co-chairing Opera Ball 2017 at the Imperial Palace, celebrating the opening of the 95th season and Puccini’s glorious opera Turandot, which is set in legendary Peking and features ‘Nessun Dorma,’ one of the composer’s most sublime arias. This year is particularly special to us, as we will be honoring Nicola Luisotti in his final season as music director of San Francisco Opera,” stated Opera Ball 2017 co-chairs Courtney Labe and Maryam Muduroglu.
