San Diego Opera To Present ‘Little Red Riding Hood’

The San Diego Opera has announced a free children’s opera performance of “Little Red Riding Hood.”

The performance, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Greek Amphitheatre, will be performed in English and is approximately 50 minutes long.

The performance will also include a pre-performance hour of family fun with free face painting, balloon artists, and family-friendly snacks.

Members of San Diego Opera’s Opera Exposed! program will perform the work, which is based on the classic European fairy tale, and composed by Seymour Barab.

The program is part of San Diego’s outreach programs and Opera Exposed! is San Diego Opera’s community engagement concert series that includes staged operatic arias and scenes featuring University Partnership and Apprentice artists.

The performance is scheduled for 2 p.m. with pre-performance fun at 1 p.m. Admission is free with a reservation beforehand.
