San Diego Opera Announces New Dates For Final Opera on the Concourse Events

By Francisco Salazar

San Diego Opera has announced new dates for the Opera on the Concourse, the Company’s free lunchtime concerts which will be held for the public on the San Diego Civic Concourse.

The free lunchtime concerts are set to feature stars of San Diego Opera’s season and the company will be partnering with the City of San Diego’s weekly food stall festival.

This requires Opera on the Concourse, traditionally held on Thursdays, to move to Wednesday and the time will be shifted so the concerts can begin at  1 p.m. The new dates for Opera on the Concourse will be Feb. 6 and April 3.

Guests of Opera on the Concourse will have the option to a number of refreshment options from food vendors set up on Civic Concourse, as well as entertainment. Dining options include tacos, bao buns, Indian curries, and more, from approximately eight to 10 vendors, many of them changing from week to week.

Opera on the Concourse attracts over 300 spectators and continues the company’s mission of providing accessible performances to the community.
