Rossini Opera Festival Announces 2022 Operas

The Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Italy has announced the titles for its 2022 season.

During a press conference for the 2021 edition, the festival’s president Daniele Vimini announced that the 2022 edition will see two new productions. “Le Comte Ory” will be conducted by Diego Matheuz and directed by Hugo de Ana while “Otello” will be conducted by Yves Abel and directed by Rosetta Cucchi. Juan Diego Florez will star in “Le Comte Ory ” while Sergey Romanovsky will take on the title role of “Otello.”

The festival will also revive “La Gazzetta” in a production by Marco Carniti. Carlo Rizzi will conduct the comedy.

The 2021 Rossini Opera Festival is set to open on August 9 and will present three operas including “Moïse et Pharaon,” “Il signor Bruschino,” and “Elisabetta regina d’Inghilterra.” The festival will also showcase concerts and galas and will run through August 22.
