Rolando Villazón To Release New Album In November

By David Salazar

Rolando Villazón is set to release a new album in coming months. But he’s not telling anyone about it.

The tenor made the revelation via Twitter in a secretive fashion.

“Psst…..don’t tell anyone: I just recorded a new album and it’s coming out in November! Take a guess what it’s about, and I will share a hint with you a little later,” he tweeted.

Villazón is busy these days as a director. His production of “Die Fledermaus” at the Deutsche Oper Berlin is set to take flight in November, while a production of “Don Pasquale” at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf is set for early 2019.

He will also direct “La Rondine” at Deutsche Oper Berlin in February followed by a new production of “Platée” at the Sächsiche Staatsoper in April.

He will also perform the roles of Don Ottavio in “Don Giovanni” and the title role in “Pelléas et Mélisande” in the first two quarters of 2019.
