Renee Fleming and Decca have a holiday gift for fans of the American soprano.

Decca announced that the famed soprano will be releasing her latest album “Distant Lights” on Jan. 6, 2017. “Distant Lights” will be her first orchestral album in three years and will feature music by Samuel Barber, Anders Hillborg and Björk.

The album will revolve around music that creates specific soundscapes and moods. The title for the entire CD comes from a phrase in Hillborg’s “The Strand Settings,” a piece dedicated to the soprano that will be making its world premiere recording in this set. The piece was first performed back in 2013. This recording was conducted by Sakari Oramo in Stockholm.

The album will also feature a recording of Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” and three songs by Björk, also world premiere recordings. There will also be a bonus track by Björk entitled Undo.

Fleming’s last album was “Guilty Pleasures” and featured pieces Delibes, Wagner, Berlioz and Strauss among others.

The superstar soprano is currently doing a run of Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier” in London, a role she will reprise in the same production at the Metropolitan Opera in the Spring. She also a number of recitals in Budapest, Florida, South Carolina and Georgia prior to returning to the Met stage in April.
