Jennifer Wilson has canceled her involvement in the remaining performances of Puccini’s “Turandot” at the Palau de les Arts.

The company announced that Wilson, who sang opening night on Oct. 17, was forced to cancel due to medical reasons and would not be able to perform the remaining shows.

As a result, Rebeka Lokar and Teresa Romano will sing the title role. Lokar performed the Oct. 20 performance and is set to appear in the one set for Oct. 31, 2018. Meanwhile, Romano will take over the Oct. 23 and 28 dates and will also perform on the 26, which she was already scheduled to perform.

Lokar has performed the role of Turandot at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Arena di Verona, and Teatro di Tradizione Sassari. The dramatic soprano is next scheduled to appear at the Teatro Regio, Teatro di San Carlo, and the Bilbao Opera. She will perform the title role of “Madama Butterfly” and “Turandot.”

Meanwhile, Romano has performed the title role of “Turandot” at the Opera Lombardia, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Teatro Sociale di Como, Teatro Regio di Torino, and Teatro Filarmonico, among others. She next performs at the Teatro Regio di Parma and Opera Lombardia in “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Andrea Chénier.”

“Turandot” also stars Marco Berti and Miren Urbieta-Vega and is conducted by Alpesh Chauhan
