Promethean Artists to Present ‘Sing for Your Live’ Theatre Event Based on Life of Ryan Speedo Green

By David Salazar

Promethean Artists has announced that it will be presenting “Sing for Your Life,” a theater event that spotlights the life of bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green.

The showcase will feature New York Times best-selling author Daniel Bergner reading excerpts from his famed book about the bass-baritone. Meanwhile Green will perform music by Mahler and Rossini, as well as African American Art Songs.

Green grew up in southeastern Virginia where he lived in a trailer park across the street from drug dealers. His childhood was dominated by an absent father and a volatile and abusive mother. At age 12, Green wound up in a juvenile facility and was placed in solitary confinement. From there, he traveled a long road to finding himself at the Metropolitan Opera’s National Council Auditions at the age of 24. He would eventually make his way onto the major opera stages around the world.

The event is presented by Promethean Artists in association with KD Schmid’s get!CREATIVE division in the European Union.

The press release for this event made no indications of any upcoming performance dates.
