Pretty Yende Performs On The Wendy Williams Show

Pretty Yende is very popular these days as she made an appearance on the Wendy Williams show.

The soprano performed the cavatina to Una voce poco fa” from Rossini’s “Il Barbiere Di Siviglia,” a role she is currently performing and scoring rave reviews for at the Metropolitan Opera. After the show Yende and Williams did a behind the scenes video where they spoke about fashion, makeup, and her journey getting to the Metropolitan Opera. She also revealed that she will be recording her second album in April in Milan.

Yende is having a banner season as she already appeared on the Stephen Colbert show promoting her new album “A Journey,” which was released by Sony Classical and includes music from Bellini, Rossini and Delibes.

The soprano made her Met Opera debut in 2013 when she stepped in for Nino Machaidze in Rossini’s “Le Comte Ory.” Since then she has been performing around the world in important new productions and revivals. At the Met she has been a fixture since her debut performing Pamina in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflote” and is scheduled to sing both Rosina and Juliette in Gounod’s “Romeo et Juliette” this season. She recently performed Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” to great acclaim at the Paris National Opera and she is scheduled to return next season for Teresa in Berlioz’s “Benvenuto Cellini.”  Later this season Yende is scheduled to return to the Royal Opera House for Adina in Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore.” Her season ends with a rare new production of Auber’s “Fra Diavolo” at the Opera di Roma. She stars alongside John Osborn and Sonia Ganassi.
