The Portland Opera has announced a plethora of free, family events for the summer of 2018.

The events include a Cinderella Sing-a-Long celebration on July 18, 2018. Those that attend will also receive complimentary ice cream. The event takes place at Director Park.

On July 25, 2018, the company will offer a live outdoor simulcast of Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” outside on SW Main Street. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. local time.

One of the most exciting offerings is “Opera a la Cart.” Per an official press release, “Order a song from the ‘menu,’ grab a glass of wine or cup of coffee,  and enjoy operatic favorites and the summer sunshine. Portland Opera’s revamped popcorn truck travels all over Portland, making stops at farmers markets, vineyards, street fairs, and festivals. All performances are free of charge and open to the public.”

There are currently 14 performances scheduled between July 7 and August 25 for “Opera a la Cart.”

Finally, the company is offering up its Resident Artist series, which will feature tenor Thomas Cilluffo in recital on August 1, 2018.
