The Portland Opera has announced its fifth annual Big Night concert, which will take place on April 14, 2018.

The performance will be led by Music Director George Manahan and will feature soloists, chorus, and orchestra from the 2018 season; they will showcase music to be featured in the upcoming season. The event will be hosted by General Director Christopher Mattaliano.

Among the soloists to be featured on the program are Stephen Powell, Vanessa Isiguien, Barry Banks, Helen Huang, Thomas Cilluffo, Shi Li, and Kate Farrar, who is returning for her second year of the program.

“We’re incredibly excited for this year’s Big Night concert as we kick off our 2018 season,” Mattaliano said in a press release. “Big Night is a celebration of opera, and also a celebration of the amazing talents that breathe life into the masterpieces of our art form. We love taking this opportunity to highlight our orchestra and chorus, and share an evening of fun with our audience.”
