Piotr Beczala Encores At Gran Teatre Del Liceu

On July 26, 2019, Piotr Beczala continued making history as he encored during his final performance of Verdi’s “Luisa Miller” at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

The tenor encored the aria “Quando le sere al Placido” after receiving a rousing ovation during his final performance.

It’s not the first time the tenor encores at the famed Barcelona theater. During the 2016-17 season he gave Liceu audiences an encore of “Pourquoi me Reveiller” in “Werther.”

Beczala also recently encored Vienna audiences in “Tosca” after after receiving generous ovations. One of the performances was recorded on ORF where Beczala gave an encore of “E Lucevan le Stelle” and received the honor of Kammersanger.

Beczala next performs at the Bayreuth Festival in the title role of Wagner’s “Lohengrin” and then returns to the Salzburg Festival for performances of “Luisa Miller.” The tenor also returns to the Deutsche Oper Berlin during the 2019-20 season.
