Philippe Jordan Confirmed For Paris Opera Ring Cycle

Philippe Jordan will honor his contract with the Opera National de Paris which is scheduled to end in 2021.

Stéphane Lissner, Director of the Paris Opera, confirmed the news stating that Jordan will end his tenure with the company during the 2020/21 season and his final production with the company will be a new production of Richard Wagner’s The Ring Cycle.

Jordan is currently the Music Director of the Wiener Symphoniker and was recently appointed as Music Director of the Wiener Staatsoper as of 2020/2021.

Jordan is slated to conduct “Don Carlos,” starring Jonas Kaufmann, Elina Garanca and Sonya Yoncheva, as well as “Parsifal” and “Benvenuto Cellini” at the Opera National Opera. He will also conduct the Met’s revival of Wagner’s Ring Cycle in 2019.
