Baritone Paulo Szot will celebrate the Tonys with a special four-night event at 54 Below.

From June 6 to the 10th, 2017, the baritone will salute Broadway by singing some of musical’s biggest hits. The concert will mark the baritone’s return to the venue where he performed with Betsy Wolfe a few years back. Billy Stritch will accompany the baritone in what should be a night filled with nostalgia and joy.

The concert is a continuation of Szot’s crossover into cabaret and musicals. In the spring Szot performed at the New Jersey Arts Center and also performed at the New York Pops concert in Carnegie Hall. He is currently on the Playbill River Cruise and is slated to make his role debut as Juan Perón in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Evita” at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.

He returns to opera in the fall with Mozart’s “Così Fan Tutte” in Paris and then goes to Michigan for Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.” He also makes his role debut in Kurt Weill’s “Street Scene” at the Teatro Real de Madrid.

Szot is widely recognized for having won the Tony Award for “South Pacific.” He made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 2010 in Shostakovich’s “The Nose” and went on to perform in Massenet’s “Manon” with Anna Netrebko and in Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus.”
