Patricia Petibon to Release New Album in 2018 With New Record Label

Patricia Petibon is making her way back to Sony Classical and will release her first album in the Spring of 2018.

The soprano’s last album was the 2014 “La Belle Excentrique,” which was released by Deutsche Grammophon.

“Patricia is an artist like no other that transcends all musical boundaries and divisions,” said the press release by the company.

 Petibon has a rather extensive discography. Among her albums re “Nouveau Monde” from 2012, which focuses on baroque arias, “Rosso,” from 2010, which showcases Italian baroque arias, Amoureuses (2008), which focuses on the works of Mozart, and “Melancolía (2011),” which showed the soprano’s interpretative ability in the music of Spain. All of these releases were part of her contract with Deutsche Grammophon, which also released a DVD of her famed “Lulu” in 2011.

Petibon is slated for a run of “Lucio Silla” at the Teatro Real de Madrid. Then she heads to La Monnaie and Théâtre des Champs-Elysées to perform “Dialogues des Carmélites” between Dec. 8-23, 2017. She will also perform at the Theater an der Wien in “Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots” in March 2018 before heading to Versailles to sing “Orfeo ed Euridice” during the summer months.
