The Palau de les Arts has announced the six finalists, who could succeed General Director Davide Livermore.
According to an article from Las Provincias, the six finalists are Paolo Pinamonti, the former director of the Teatro de la Zarzuela and the director of the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, and Stefano Pace, director of Teatro Verdi, and the former technical director of the Royal Opera House.
Spaniard Jesús Iglesias, who is currently part of the Amsterdam Opera, and Raúl Asenjo, assistant director of the Teatro de la Zarzuela, are also on the list. Sebastian F. Schwarz, former director at the Glyndebourne Festival, and Marcelo Lombardero, stage director at the Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, are also finalists.
The Palau de les Arts recently announced its 2018-19 season, which will showcase such works as “Turandot,” “I Masnadieri,” and “Rigoletto,” among others.
