OperaVision 2018-19: How To Live Stream ‘Khovanshchina’ From Moscow

Opera Vision will start streaming Mussorgsky’s “Khovanschchina” starting on April 26, 2019. The performance will be broadcast live from the Moscow State Stanislavsky Music Theatre.

The gigantic work will feature such artists as Dmitry Ulyanov, Nikolay Erokhin, Najmiddin Mavlyanov, Ksenia Dudnikova, Anton Zaraeva, Denis Makarov, Chingins Ayusheev, Natalia Muradymova, Dmitry Polkopin, and Maria Makeeva, among others.

Alexander Titel will direct a production that will be conducted by Alexander Lazarev.

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time. That’s around 12 p.m. EDT and 9.m. PST for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until Oct. 25, 2019.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. OperaVision brings together 30 partners from 18 countries and invites you to travel and discover the diversity of opera from wherever you want, whenever you want.”

Next up on the slate of live streams will be the International Moniuszko Vocal Competition.
