OperaVision 2017-18 Live Stream: Opera Ballet Vlaanderen Presents ‘Parsifal’

Opera Vision will start streaming “Parsifal” from the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen on April 1, 2018.

Wagner’s final masterpiece will showcase Christoph Pohl as Amfortas, Stefan Kocan as Gurnemanz, Erin Caves as Parsifal, Kay Stiefermann as Klingsor, and Tanja Ariane Baumgartner as both Kundry and the Voice from Above. Cornelius Meister leads the Symhonish Orkest Opera Vlaanderen.

The stream kicks off at 3 p.m. local time. That’s around 10 p.m. EDT and 7 a.m. PST for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until September 2, 2018.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. OperaVision brings together 30 partners from 18 countries and invites you to travel and discover the diversity of opera from wherever you want, whenever you want.”

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Il Corsaro,” “La Traviata,” and “La Favorite.”
