Opera Vision 2017-18 Preview: Eva-Maria Westbroek Leads La Monnaie’s ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’ & ‘Pagliacci’ Double Bill

Opera Vision will start streaming the famed double bill of “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci” from La Monnaie starting on March 14, 2018.

The double bill is set to feature a number of acclaimed artists. The Mascagni work will feature Eva-Maria Westbroek, Jose Maria Lo Monaco, Teador Ilincai, Dimitri Platanias, and Elena Zilio while the Leoncavallo opera stars Simona Mihai, Carlo Ventre, Scotto Hendricks, and Gabriele Nani.

The stream kicks off at 7:30 p.m. local time. That’s around 2:30 p.m. EDT and 11:30 a.m. PST for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until September 13, 2018.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. OperaVision brings together 30 partners from 18 countries and invites you to travel and discover the diversity of opera from wherever you want, whenever you want.”

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Aida,” “Blaubart,” and “Eros & Psyche.”
