Opera Stars React To Nicolai Gedda’s Death

Opera stars and industry member reacted to the death of legendary tenor Nicolai Gedda, which was officially announced on Thursday Feb. 9, 2017.

After it was revealed that Gedda passed away on Jan. 8 many great stars such as Ailyn Perez, Michael Fabiano and Brian Jagde took to social media to share their condolences. Some of the singers put YouTube videos to remember the singer while others sent out messages with his picture.

Gedda was 91 years old and was known for having recorded over 200 records and having sung 70 roles.

We pay tribute to golden-voiced Swedish tenor Nicolai Gedda, following news that his daughter has confirmed his passing at the age of 91. A legend who made more than 200 recordings, and who will be deeply missed.
