Opera Omaha Announces 2018- 19 Season

Opera Omaha has announced its 2018- 19 season, offering audiences in the Nebraska region the chance to see classic works given fresh productions, as well as giving performance opportunities to the emerging artists.

Pagliacci

Timothy Myers will conduct the two performances of Leoncavallo’s timeless tragedy, starring Jonathan Burton as Canio, and Leah Partridge making her role debut as Nedda.

Performance Dates: October 19 & 21, 2018

L’Elisir D’Amore

Donizetti’s rags-to-riches romantic comedy will be given a newer spin; Director Rosetta Cucchi’s new production will see the story unfold in an American High School circa 1980, featuring Taylor Stayton as the lovesick Nemorino and Deanna Breiwick as the flighty Adina.

Performance Dates: February 15 & 17, 2019

Les Enfants Terribles

Artistic Director James Darrah will create a “site specific production” that showcases the dance-related aspects of this opera based on the novel by Jean Cocteau.

Performance Dates: April 3, 5, 7, 13, 14, 2019

Faust

Conducted by Steven White, this production will feature music often cut from Gounod’s work. Tenor Gerard Schneider will be making his debut with the company, in the role of Faust.

Performance Dates: April 12 & 14, 2019
