Opera Naples Receives Donation for Wang Opera Center Renovations

Opera Naples is ready to take their renovations to the next level, thanks to their most recent donation from philanthropists David and Cecile Wang.

The Wang family made a generous donation of $300,000 to Opera Naples, which will help with Phase III improvements to the Wang Opera Center. Included in the renovations are 56 additional seats, a professional control booth, and soundproofing for practice rooms located backstage. This donation will also allow Opera Naples to apply for a Cultural Facilities Grant from the state of Florida to match half of the original amount and allow for further development.

“Opera Naples is incredibly grateful for this considerable donation and the Wangs’ continued commitment to our organization,” says Jerry Goldberg, Managing Director and Acting Development Director for Opera Naples, “It is contributions like this from the community that help ensure that opera continues to flourish in Southwest Florida.”
