Opera Naples Announces Its 2017-18 Season With Renata Scotto Academy

Opera Naples has announced its 2017-18 season showcasing numerous stars and productions.

The season begins on Nov. 3, 2017, with Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly.”

It will be followed by recital concerts by Maria José Montiel on Jan. 31, 2018, and Luca Salsi on Feb. 18, 2018. The season will also include Opera in the Garden on Feb. 20, 2018.

Two performances of Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore” will follow on Feb. 23 and 24, 2018. The company will also celebrate Leonard Bernstein on March 10, 2018, and will conclude on May 11, 2018, with Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

The season will also see the return of the Renata Scotto Academy. On Feb. 2 and April 18, 2018, the company will give two concerts as part of the program.

The company will also feature include recitals by violinist Frank Huang, an evening of Russian trios and the Ying String Quartet.
