Opéra de Paris’ ‘Il Trovatore’ To be Performed In Concert Version as Strike Continues

By Francisco Salazar

The strike continues at the Opéra National de Paris and as a result, will affect tonight’s performance of “Il Trovatore.”

The company announced that the concert version of the famed Verdi opera will feature the chorus and soloists in a single costume with no sets. This is the fourth performance that has affected the company as numerous showcases have been canceled and some have been performed in concert settings.

Due to the changes, the company will compensate ticketholders with a purchase voucher amounting to approximately 50 % of the price indicated on the ticket, valid for one year, to use for tickets of the performance of your choice.

Tonight’s “Il Trovatore” will feature Sondra Radvanovsky, Željko Lučić, Anita Rachvelishvili, and Marcelo Alvarez.
