By Francisco Salazar

Opera Australia has announced that it will continue its successful Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour series.

The company announced that the series will continue for a new three-year agreement with Destination NSW, commencing in 2018 with Puccini’s “La Bohème.”

After six years the Handa Opera on Sydney Harbor has been described as one of the top four opera open-air events in the world by Signature Luxury Travel and Style Magazine. It has attracted more than 250,000 attendees from around Australia and across the globe over the past six years and the 2018 edition expects to be as successful.

“La Bohème” will be directed by Andy Morton, who revived Gale Edwards’ “Carmen.” Legendary conductor Brian Castles-Onion will again take up his position under the stage, leading the Opera Australia Orchestra while Dan Potra will design the sets and costumes.
