New York Opera Fest 2017: Check Out New Works With OperaRox Productions

As the New York Opera Festival draws ever closer to its grand finale, OperaRox Productions is looking to make a big statement.

The company is showcasing its New Works Concert this weekend, which will feature new music by different composers and one singer being paired together to a create a new piece of music.

As per the program, the concert’s pairings include (composer and singer), Dana Kaufman and Melissa Serluco, Jessica Marlor and Ryan Colbert, Marc Hoffeditz and Max Vitagliano, Robin Haigh and Alexa Rosenberg, Ross Crean and Maayan Voss de Bettancourt.

“We paired each composer (except Price Walden) with a performer, with the intention to foster connections between these artists and hone their collaborative abilities,” says the company’s promotion for the concert.

The program will also include excerpts from “The Contract Player,” an opera-in-progress by Price Walden and Lane Williamson,

Later on this summer, the company will showcase the New York Premiere of “Sweets by Kate” which will be performed at the Stonewall Inn.

The New Works Concert takes place on Friday at the Opera America Rehearsal Hall starting at 7 p.m. EDT.
