New York Choral Society To Honor Stephanie Blythe

By Francisco Salazar
The New York Choral Society will honor Stephanie Blythe in the company’s annual Spring Gala.
The company will honor Blythe with the NYChoral Award for musical excellence. Blythe has performed all around the world and is considered one of the greatest mezzos of her generation. She returns to the Metropolitan Opera for “Cendrillon” and is also scheduled to make an appearance at the Opera Awards. She is also scheduled for “Il Triticco” and “La Fille du Régiment” next season. She also sings at the Palm Beach Opera and at the Dallas Opera next season.
The gala will include a musical performance by Metropolitan Opera stars Amanda Majeski and Ben Bliss, as well as a cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. It will also support NYCHORAL’s program of bringing its world-class music-making to venues throughout New York and beyond.
The gala takes place on April 5, 2018.
