New National Theatre, Tokyo Launches New Streaming Platform

New National Theatre, Tokyo has announced  the launch of its own new, online streaming platform NNTT Stream.

The platform offers recordings of opera, ballet, dance, and drama, and is currently available for free and without registration.

On November 26, the organization will stream its “New Opera with Children and an Android: Super Angels,” which was staged in August 2021. Shibuya Keiichiro’s work bring together children, professional opera singers, ballet dancers, and the New National Theatre Chorus to share a story of technology and coexistence.

On December 24, the New Theatre Tokyo will stream its production of Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Sivilgia” from February 2020, featuring Rene Barbera, Wakizono Aya, Paolo Bordogna, Florian Sempey, and Marco Spotti.

Among the available streams are the July 2021 staging of “Carmen,” and excerpts from Cimarosa’s comic opera “L’impresario in angustie,” performed by the young singers of their Opera Studio.
